About Helium gas
Helium can be used as a shielding gas for welding, particulary for thick section of non ferrous metals, e.g. aluminium. It is also used for
party hire for inflating balloons.
Hazards

Should helium replace oxygen in air there is a risk of asphyxia: air containing less then 16% oxygen is dangerous.
Precautions

Never allow oil or grease on cylinder or valve

Close Cylinder when not in use

Always use regulator to connect to system

Secure cylinders to prevent falling over

Open cylinder valve slowly
